The model is developed based on the data from high-precision ship Automatic Identification System (AIS). The underlying database contains about 30 billion AIS signals each year, covering global international fleet activity information. 98% of the AIS signals have a time interval within 6 minutes. Currently, it provides gridded data of annual ship emissions in East Asia with a spatial resolution of 0.1 degrees in 2017, involving SO<sub>2<\/sub>, NO<sub>x<\/sub>, CO, VOC, PM<sub>2.5<\/sub>, OC and BC, which enables multiscale modeling of air quality by chemical transport models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SEIM database is developed and maintained by Tsinghua University.
