The SEIM database is developed based on data from high precision ship Automatic Identification System (AIS). The underlying database contains an average of 30 billion AIS signals and 350,000 ship technical parameter data worldwide and aims to provide the latest generation of inventory for multiscale air quality models. The high-resolution emission inventory fills the gap of shipping emissions in multiscale air quality models. The SEIM database has successively established high-resolution dynamic shipping emission inventories for ports in the world, East Asia, and China. The database has been used by the GAINS model, the United Nations Environment Program, etc. to support the research of Eurasian air pollutant emissions, and at the same time supports the research of the design and planning upgrade of the Chinese shipping emission control area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/meicmodel.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/1-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1415\" width=\"768\" height=\"384\" srcset=\"http:\/\/meic-dev.makenv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/1-1024x512.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/meic-dev.makenv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/1-300x150.jpg 300w, http:\/\/meic-dev.makenv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/1-768x384.jpg 768w, http:\/\/meic-dev.makenv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/1.jpg 1269w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><figcaption>Global shipping NOx emissions<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SEIM database currently provides gridded data (0.5\u00b0\u00d70.5\u00b0) of global shipping emissions in 2017, covering 6 species of SO<sub>2<\/sub>, NO<sub>x<\/sub>, HC, PM<sub>2.5<\/sub>, CO, and CO<sub>2<\/sub>. Welcome to download and use the SEIM database through the new version of the MEIC website (http:\/\/meicmodel.org\/dataset-seim.html).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to promote the sharing of our research results, the MEIC model team established a public WeChat account platform which is called &#8220;Atmospheric composition changes &amp; climate and environmental impacts&#8221;. The platform focused on the latest research about cooperative control of climate change and air pollution and shared the team\u2019s papers, developed models and data sets in this field.
